The Vision of the FKIP UIR is to become a leading, professional, and competitive Teacher Training Institution that produces graduates with high standards of competence in teaching and educational services, upholding moral, scholarly, and Islamic ethical values, and embodying pride and national dignity as Indonesian citizens. Thus, the Vision of the Physical Education Program at FKIP UIR is as follows:

“To become a world-class program in Physical Education, Health, and Recreation based on faith and piety by the year 2041.”

History

The Physical Education Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Islam Riau domiciled in Pekanbaru was established based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No.0214/0/1986. The acceptance of Health Physical Education Study Program students was initially from Diploma 3 (D3) in 1986 to 1992 along with Srata 1 which conducted acceptance from 1987 to the present. The Physical Education Study Program is part of 9 study programs at FKIP UIR. When the study program was established, the Physical Education Study Program had 4 lecturers. Currently, the Physical Education Study Program consists of 24 permanent lecturers with Doctoral and Master qualifications. The Physical Education Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Islam Riau has been accredited with a Good accreditation rating based on Decree No. 1157/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/III/2021.

MISSION

  1. Organizing physical education to produce graduates with global insight in mastering science and technology based on faith and piety
  2. Increasing the resources, productivity, and innovation of research and development in the field of Physical Education based on faith and piety.
  3. Increasing the resources, productivity, and innovation of community service and development in the field of Physical Education based on faith and piety.
  4. Improving the quality and quantity of Islamic Da’wah through learning in the field of Physical Education based on faith and piety

Graduate Profile

PL1

Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Teacher

Graduates in this field possess the skills to teach physical education at various educational levels, including elementary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools, special education schools, and roles such as school principals and supervisors, with a strong Islamic character.

PL2

Edupreneur 

Graduates demonstrate entrepreneurial skills in the field of education, such as managing tutoring centers, serving as sports instructors, running fitness centers within communities, and organizing sports events.

PL3

oach, Trainer, Entertainer, and Sports Instructor

Graduates work as coaches, trainers, and instructors in institutions, schools, clubs, and communities, and also serve as consultants in sports and recreation.

Scientific Goal

Academic Goals of the Program

Based on the Vision and Mission of the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Program at FKIP UIR, four specific objectives have been established to achieve these goals. These objectives are detailed through several strategic targets that reflect the indicators for reaching the Vision and Mission of the Program. The four objectives are:

  • Enhancement of service quality and graduates with a global perspective in mastering science and technology based on faith and piety in the field of physical education, health, and recreation.
  • Improvement of graduate quality with a global perspective rooted in faith and piety in the field of physical education, health, and recreation.
  • Increase in resources, productivity, and innovation in community service and development in the field of physical education, health, and recreation.
  • Enhancement of the quality and quantity of Islamic preaching through education  in the field of physical education, health, and recreation.
